I think that the University's assignment callender was better. It would be a better fit for A.I. The reason is simple. It's EASIER!! The RPC was much more complicated ( it still was not that bad) but comparing it to the U's, the university's was better.
I do see these as being useful, especially for a student with a heavy workload. When you have multiple assignments from different classes it is hard to keep things organized (for me). most college students use their computers everyday. so it would be easy to check up on your assignments. I can't really think of any specific things, but i could see myself using it if there is a period of time where i have a lot of projects.

thing 12 blahhhhhh!!!
I hate to sound like a negative nancy here but i have to be honest. I have not heard of this thing before, and really see no point to it. I can see it helping slightly for certain people, but speaking for the majority here i only see this as a waste of time and energy. personally i am able to find information pretty easily, so tagging is not for me. sorry!!!!!

i think that these slideshows are helpful, however i do not think that they are very practical to alot of people. For buisiness's it would be ideal, just because you are able to give a presentation across the country (or countries). Honestly i cannot see how this would be helpful to students (school related things) because its hard to picture a student giving a presentation via the web. Usually it is hands on. The tool that i used was easy to operate, and navigate. That was cool because no one wants to hunt around for stuff like that. The one problem i had was trying to paste the code into my blog!!!!! i uploaded my pictures, and created a slideshow but i couldn't find or figure out where to put it! Every place i tried it wouldn's show up, or allow me too. so that was kind of frustrating

The mash-up's are not really that important i think, for a job anyways. It can give you that extra edge though to make you or your profile stand out. It shows the people viewing it that you are creative, and have a creative mind for art (which is important) duhh. As far as photo sharing goes, i really don't have a problem with it. I really do not agree with the whole "royalty-free" aspect of images, because if someone puts an image on the internet, they know that certain people are going to take the image. but that's just me

Flickr is a good tool to use for school work, and in general. Usually i think me (and most people) if we need an image, go to google and search the web. But a cool thing about flickr is that they are usually more unique, royalty-free, and of a higher quality. its a great tool for any computer classes reltaed to my studies, because you cannot violate copyright laws in the "real world" a downfall about flickr is that it is not very specific. what i mean by that is that it would be hard to find images using flickr for lets say, An athlete or musician, or anything "specific". Dont get me wrong, i know you can, its just not nearly as many as you would find if you were using Google images. As far as privacy concerns, i really wouldnt put anything on the internet that i wouldnt want people to see. so i wouldnt have to worry about it, and i really dont think alot of people do. Personally i have used google images for as long as i can remember, and still will; however, i do like flickr and will probably use it in the future.

thang 8.. wiki wiki what?
I have mixed feelings about the wiki concept. I like it because it is relatively easy to find information on things that not alot of other resources would have, so thats good.. but i dont like the fact that people can edit information. Theres too many dumb people in today's world for someone NOT to mess with correct information, i don't like that aspect too well. I see why alot of educators ban wiki's as a reliable source of information, but not all wiki's are incorrect. as a matter of fact i have not ran into alot of problems with that, but i know its out there. if i were a teacher i would tell the student to compare with other articles if it doesn't seem accurate and it it is to be false, than PUNISH THEM!!! jk jk, i probably wouldnt do that.

I dont really know about all this hoopla.. but digg could be helpful when doing certain homewerk projects. probably would be most helpful when knowing ahead of time for a certain research project or something, which would allow you to organize specific articles over a certain amount of time. i personally do not find these tools very helpful or interesting, i mean sure its nice to be able to look and easily find articles on specific topics, but is it really that hard to look for articles?? idk, maybe? haha. as far as credibility goes, i don't think it would be too big of an issue. if something outlandish catches your attention and mite question it. than i would search for other articles relating to the "sketchy" one from different sources.

I selected twitter as a social journal. i picked twitter because i know alot of people are using it, and already knew what it was all about. To be honest i really cant see twitter helping me in school, but potentially as a professional resource. You could see what a certain group of people are thinking about certain issues/products, and use that information to create something, and or take something back to square one. A thing that is interesting about Twitter is that you can get personal information soely from the person itself. In todays media it is hard to accurately judge a famous person by what you see on tv because it is manipulated sooooooo much. Its kind of cool to actually see their own thoughts, and their own opinions through theirs and only their eyes. i like that. As far as people using twitter for evil, i dont think that it would be a big issue. i mean people could post clues to crazy illegal things their doing, or lurk around on peoples profiles. but that could happen anywhere on the net, not just twitter. other than that i really do not see many ways it woulc be used for "evil"

Social networking is a valuable tool for many people, and especially for students, and businesses. By connecting with other A.i students through facebook, I am able to meet people, and stay in touch with opther students outside of class. this surrounds me with other people looking for the same education, therefore helping me fulfill my goals as a student at the Art Institute. i could use facebook to upload my Artwork to, and let everyone see it. My friends could give me helpful criticism, and at the same time allow potential employers to analyze my work and see what its all about. I basically share almost everything about me on facebook. Im a real cat, n let playas now what im all about (except like where i live and things that could get me in trouble). Professional networking is different from social networking because of one thing.. One is more professional than the other! haha, but seriously it is. personally i like social networking better because it's more laid-back than professional networking but at the same time can be used for professional things.

The MyAi campus is a helpful tool. It allows me to go to one place on the internet, and have everything i need to know about my education in one spot. I think its interesting the way it is set up. For my high school, we had something similar, but it was never updated, confusing, and non-personal. My Ai-campus is set up in a way which is neither of those listed above. i like that. Also i like the icons that are clearly stacked at the top of the page for easy access to everthing an Ai-student needs! whoo woot! i didnt have any problems with this (thing 3) but was kind of confused at first on thing 1 and thing 2. i think it was the "wordy sentences" and the barrage of links.

At first glance, reading through the criteria and figuring what this RSS deal is all about, i thought it would take forever and was kind of stupid; However, i can see why readers help me, and fellow bloggers. one thing i really think is cool about readers, is the icon button you can click on different websites and blogs. Readers could potentially help my personal school work in a variety of ways, but i think I would use this most likely for News feeds, and probably school work if i needed it. Educators would find readers as a very helpful tool in teaching. I can see teachers creating projects for students because it would allow students to filter out bad resources and non-related subjects.

Ok, so this whole blog thing is a new thing to me. Yes i know what blogs are, and what they're all about, but this is the first one i have ever created one. I do not think that i will continue to use blogs after this assignment, but you never know? One thing i do like about this, is that i am able to view other students blogs, and begin to start networking. thats hot... anywho, I can see how blogs help students and other people connect to certain specific topics, especially school related studies.
